In order to realise the full potential of green hydrogen and Power-to-X (PtX) projects, all stakeholders must carefully consider the questions of land acquisition and land use<\/strong>. This is not only necessary from a legal perspective, but considerate land acquisition and land use also contribute to the social licence to operate. A clear legal framework for land use rights can facilitate the evaluation, assessment, development, implementation and financing of large-scale green hydrogen and PtX projects. The third sustainability briefing<\/strong> addresses land use associated with renewable energy production and electrolysis plants<\/strong>. In addition, it presents helpful steps for land selection<\/strong> and aspects to consider during the process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The briefing is aimed at policy makers, regulators and other stakeholders<\/strong> seeking an introduction to land use in the context of PtX.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When designing green hydrogen and PtX value chains and policy frameworks, key elements of sustainability must be taken into account to ensure long-term positive impacts for all stakeholders involved.
