{"id":28088,"date":"2025-06-06T07:46:18","date_gmt":"2025-06-06T05:46:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ptx-hub.org\/?post_type=publication&#038;p=28088"},"modified":"2025-06-06T08:03:53","modified_gmt":"2025-06-06T06:03:53","slug":"uses-and-demand-for-green-hydrogen-and-power-to-x-in-argentina","status":"publish","type":"publication","link":"https:\/\/ptx-hub.org\/fr\/publication\/uses-and-demand-for-green-hydrogen-and-power-to-x-in-argentina\/","title":{"rendered":"Analysis of Potential Uses and Demand for Green Hydrogen and Power-to-X in Argentina"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The study analyses the potential of green hydrogen (H2V) and Power-to-X in Argentina\u2019s energy transition, focusing on their adoption in industrial and transportation sectors under a long-term carbon-neutrality scenario.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rather than emphasising production capacity, the analysis focuses on the defossilisation of key activities such as aviation, maritime and heavy transport, mining, agricultural machinery, steel production, oil refining, fertilisers, methanol, chemical feedstock, and high-temperature industrial heat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The study provides short-, medium-, and long-term estimates of:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>The potential consumption of green hydrogen by 2050.<\/li><li>The associated reduction in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.<\/li><li>The main opportunities and barriers to sectoral adoption.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Among the findings, it is estimated that potential H2V demand could reach 1,8 Mt\/year by 2050, with a reduction of approximately 18 Mt\/year of CO<sub>2<\/sub>. Aviation and maritime transport emerge as priority sectors, followed by the chemical industry, particularly fertilisers and methanol.
