Green Hydrogen: Trade Dynamics in South East Asia
The study examines the green hydrogen and derivatives markets in South East Asia. By exploring the diverse infrastructure, policy ambitions, and economic drivers that shape the green hydrogen markets in the region, the study canvasses the current and future prospects for green hydrogen on a country-by-country basis. Furthermore, the study identifies industries where green hydrogen can have the most significant impact.
South East Asia is aregion poised to play a crucial role in the global energy transistion. Its energy landscape is as diverse as its countries, each with unique challenges and opportunities in harnessing green hydrogen and its derivatives. Countries such as Vietnam and Malaysia are emerging as players in green hydrogen production, while others such as Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand will see demand grow.
The study was conducted under the auspice of the International Hydrogen Ramp-up Programme (H2Uppp) of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action. H2Uppp supports projects and market development for green hydrogen in selected developing and emerging countries as part of the German National Hydrogen Strategy.
