Productive linkages of the green hydrogen and derivatives industry in Magallanes and Chilean Antarctica
This study focuses on exploring the potential productive linkages of the green hydrogen industry and its derivatives in the Magallanes and Chilean Antarctic regions. Its main objective is to identify locally available intermediate goods and services that can be provided to materialise the announced projects in the area, considering various development scenarios.
Based on real data provided by H2V Magallanes, projections are made for 2050 to thoroughly analyse potential impacts in terms of employment opportunities, growth prospects, along with the challenges faced by the region in establishing robust local supply chains. Finally, instruments for promoting productivity are identified in order to enhance the goods and services that Magallanes already provides to this emerging industry, thereby generating relevant economic and social development.
