Interview with Torsten Schwab on the role of Latin America as a PtX leader
The German-Ecuadorian Chamber of Commerce interviewed Torsten Schwab, Director of the International PtX Hub, in its magazine Ökonomía. The spotlight was on the emerging role of green hydrogen and PtX globally and the role of Latin American countries such as Chile and Brazil as leaders in PtX production.
Green hydrogen is the link between electricity and the hydrocarbons we today derive from crude oil. With hydrogen and nitrogen or carbon, we can produce fuels, plastics, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals… anything currently made from fossil fuels. So, to put it right, we are rather moving towards a renewable electricity economy, not a hydrogen economy.
