EU-Morocco cooperation for PtX trade: opportunities and prospects

The European Union and its Member States are actively seeking a strengthened energy partnership with Morocco to promote a clean energy transition that is mutually beneficial and favours the emergence of economic and social opportunities. Regional integration through the convergence of energy and carbon markets is a strategy to intensify cooperation and leverage Morocco’s unique bi-directional connection with Europe. Beyond hydrogen, Morocco is comitted to produce PtX products for local consumption and export. Public and private sector representatives will discuss how to scale up these efforts and how to strategically engage the private sector to ensure effective implementation of this impactful partnership.
