On its path towards building up Power-to-X production and trade, Jordan needs a well-trained and skillful workforce with expertise along the PtX value chain.

To meet the future demand, PtX training programmes and courses tailored to Jordanian professionals must be developed now.

Green Hydrogen and Power-to-X Course for University Students – Capacity-Building for Jordan’s Future Workforce

In recognition of this, the International PtX Hub will jointly develop the course “Green Hydrogen and Power-to-X for University Students – Capacity Building for Jordan’s Future Workforce” with the German Jordanian University (GJU). The agreement was signed by the university’s President, Prof. Dr. Aladdin Al-Halhouli and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) through the International PtX Hub, enabled by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection (BMWK).

A set of courses will cover green hydrogen and PtX technologies and include training workshops for students, engineers, and faculty at the university and other Jordanian universities. The course will be designed to equip university students with the necessary knowledge and skills to push forward the emerging PtX sectors in Jordan. It will cover the fundamentals of green hydrogen and PtX technology in terms of production, transportation, distribution, storage, derivatives and utilisation. It will also include technical and economic aspects, safety measures, regulations as well as the Jordanian potentials.

The collaboration between GJU and the PtX Hub highlights the potentials of public-private partnerships to advance the development of renewable energy technologies and to increase job opportunities for graduates in the sector.
