The International Hydrogen Ramp Up Programme (H2Uppp) is extending its call for proposals to the private sector to submit ideas for green hydrogen and PtX projects.
With H2Uppp, the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) supports companies in identifying, preparing, and implementing projects for the production and use of green hydrogen and products derived from it – particularly in markets in developing and emerging countries.
H2Uppp provides assistance to companies that are planing the production and utilisation of green hydrogen and power-to-x applications. The programme also promotes knowledge transfer for green hydrogen project development and raises awareness of market opportunities among decision-makers. In this way, economic production and use pathways can be identified together with partner countries, project opportunities along the value chain can be identified and business models can be developed.
To this end, public-private partnerships (PPPs) will be entered into with companies from Germany and Europe that have previously been identified in an ideas competition. The PPPs will be funded along the entire hydrogen value chain. H2Uppp addresses German and European companies as well as local companies in the target country as consortium partners. The programme is implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.
More information on the competition, application forms and examples of successful PPPs can be found here: MatchMaker.
The deadline for applications is 14 March 2025. For more information on H2Uppp and the call, please contact h2uppp@giz.de.
