The PtX Hub is a centre for expertise and collaboration for innovative and sustainable value chains for green hydrogen and Power-to-X, working on the innovation topic of renewable electricity-based fuels (PtX) for sustainable development in newly industrialising and developing countries. On behalf of the German Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, the PtX Hub develops sustainability and quality standards and advises on these, establishes international networks, designs and implements training concepts, advises countries on their potential and prepares studies and reports on the topic of PtX. The knowledge that is generated internationally on PtX is collected, processed and made available worldwide. The aim is to help sustainable electricity-based fuels achieve a global breakthrough. In addition to other application sectors in the heavy industry, the main focus is on the transport modes of aviation and shipping.
To expand the work on sustainable aviation, we are looking for a junior specialist for aviation fuels to advise on the market ramp-up for PtX. The position starts on November 1, 2024 and is based in Bonn. Applications will be accepted until September 12.
Your responsibilities
- Technical advisory with a focus on aviation fuels
- Organisational support in the PtX Hub with a focus on knowledge management, stakeholder mapping/management, quality assurance, sector-specific events
- Collaboration in selected committees of the German government and GIZ initiatives on the topic of PtX and hydrogen in aviation
- Support in the further development of training courses on the topic of e-SAF
- Participation in the conception, preparation, implementation and evaluation of information, dialogue and training events on the topic of aviation
- Preparation of tender documents for, and support in the implementation with, research and consulting institutes/companies
- Contributing to the interface between e-SAF and Sustainable Maritime Fuels (SMF)
Your profile
- Completed university degree in the field of aerospace engineering or process engineering
- Initial work experience in the aviation or aviation fuel industry
- Knowledge and experience in the field of climate protection or sustainability in aviation, preferably with reference to PtX or green hydrogen
- Quick comprehension skills and the ability to prepare and easily present complex technical content
- Strong teamwork skills combined with a willingness to take on responsibility
- Modest, diplomatic and competent demeanour
- First relevant professional experience gained in developing countries is an advantage
- Business fluent in English and German, further language skills desirable
