The electrolyser and fuel cell markets are evolving with a quick pace. Rapid technological advancements and falling prices are shaping the market landscape. For decision-makers in the field, understanding these dynamics is key to making informed decisions and shaping enabling environments accordingly.
To provide a comprehensive overview on the status quo of the electrolyser and fuel cell markets, the H2.SA project launched two publications addressing questions of key decision-makers in the green hydrogen sector in South Africa on electrolyser and fuel cell technologies. They offer a comprehensive market overview of electrolyser and fuel cell manufacturing, shed light on key trends, developments, and growth prospects within the rapidly evolving industry. By analysing current market dynamics, technological advancements, and emerging opportunities, the overview provides valuable insights for stakeholders, investors, and industry players to make informed decisions, seize opportunities, and contribute to the advancement of electrolyser and fuel cell manufacturing.
Launch brings project developers and technology partners together
As part of the launch, H2.SA and the South African-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry invited South African project developers to support them in identifying potential technology partners. Electrolyser and fuel cell manufacturers presented their market approach and services, as well as how they interact with their clients. Participants also exchanged directly with equipment manufacturers, project developers, as well as other hydrogen stakeholders. Mahandra Rooplall, Industry Development planner of the Industrial Development Cooperation (IDC), gave a keynote address on South Africa’s green hydrogen commercialisation strategy and implications for localisation potentials of electrolyser and fuel cell technologies.
Hydrox Holdings, Mitochondria, Isondo Precious Metals, Man Energy Solutions, Bambili Energy, Robert Bosch GmbH and Cummins and other stakeholders within the green hydrogen value chain exchanged lively and are committed to leveraging the opportunities for South Africa in electrolyser and fuel cell production.
