Guide for Power-to-X project development in Argentina

This guide for the development of green hydrogen and Power-to-X (PtX) projects in Argentina offers tools to support stakeholders to successfully develop projects in the Argentinian green hydrogen and PtX sector.

The interdisciplinary approach covers technical, regulatory, and project development aspects, from fundamental principles to advanced concepts that help to understand the complexity of these projects. The guide focuses on four types of projects: green hydrogen, green methanol, green ammonia, and e-SAF production. It is structured into four chapters:

Chapter 1: Introduction - Explains standard concepts and defining common characteristics in the development of green hydrogen and PtX projects and businesses.

Chapter 2: Fundamentals of project development and regulatory framework - Presents the general aspects of green hydrogen and PtX project development: stages, estimated timelines, and regulatory and legal considerations in Argentina.
Chapter 3: Processes & technologies - Explains technical details on the development for green hydrogen, green ammonia, green methanol, and e-SAF production plants.
Chapter 4: Techno-economic modeling and case study analysis - Introduces an approach to structuring the business cases for green hydrogen and PtX projects, analysing cost impacts of different components such as CapEx, OpEx, engineering, EPC, financing and taxes, based on examples of hypothetical yet feasible projects.

The guide is aimed at project developers, particularly those in the early stages of project development in Argentina. However, it is also a valuable resource for other stakeholders, including government authorities, decision-makers, academics and R&D professionals, engineering consulting firms, technology providers, service companies, and the general public to understand the complexities of project development for PtX.
