Study: Port infrastructure at the Patagonian coast for green hydrogen and Power-to-X projects
This study aims to identify and assess the existing port infrastructure and sites in the Patagonian coast of Argentina along the Atlantic Ocean to analyse its technical feasibility for adapting to the requirements of green hydrogen and derivative projects, including the development of potential new facilities.
The report focuses on local port systems, including public and private aspects, evaluating structures that facilitate docking, mooring, and cargo operations. It also considers nautical access, land storage, and the development of industrial facilities suited for hydrogen production.
Given the technical challenges of transporting gaseous hydrogen, the study emphasises the export of hydrogen derivatives like ammonia or methanol. The study's objective is to evaluate the technical suitability of ports and various locations for hydrogen export projects.
